1st i wanna thank every1 who's replied to my questions. recently i posted about cleaning my throttle body & now my 91 ls wont start. I have to apologize for not mentioning my mess up 1st. there were no gaskets available near me so i bought the gasket material and traced it off the throttle body, but when i put it on i didnt cut out the hole for the "flapper" in the t/b. the car started perfectly, but when i hit the gas it stalled because i didnt realize i didnt cut the hole out, does any1 have any idea what might of happened cuz again this mechanic said because the (check engine) light DOESN'T...AGAIN DOESN'T COME ON THE CAR WON'T START. i told him what i did & he just kinda gave me this lookwith no words. by the way nj mechanics take forever to look at your car. i have it somwhere else now & hes had it for 6 days, no look yet

First,, go back and retrieve your car from this yea-yo mechanic b/c he has absolutely no sense of what he is doing. If your car is gonna get screwed up, am sure you can do it all by yourself with no help from him. LOL!!!
Second, do any of the lights on your dash come on when you turn the ignition? They should come on for a brief second and then disappear when the car is started.

Not quite sure why it still will not start now that you have corrected your mistake. Please keep us informed.

That was a very silly mistake, but at least it was an honest one. Hopefully you'll be driving her again soon.

lol!! yea i know i feel like a cross between patrick from spongebob & tim the tool man. im gonna go to the other place i have it & let u know about the lights. i believe all of them come on when i turn the key, the car still cranks & seems so close to starting!

Ok, I Went To The Other Mechanics Place The Cars At & The Lights That Come On Are The Seat Belt, O/d Off, Oil Light, Brake Light, & That Yellow Light On The Bottom Left That Looks Like A Castle Or Somethin, Than Some Stay On & Others Go Off

Ok, I Checked The Codes As They Said In Lexls.com. Engine & Tranny I Got Nothing(o/d Off Light Blinks Continuously) For The Abs/air Bag/trac Codes I Also Got Nothing(anti Lock & Cruise Main Continuously Blinking). I Dont Know If Theres Any Other Ways To Check Other Codes As This Is All They Provided In Lexls.com. Still The Car Wont Start And Now For Some Reason THE BATTERY IS DEAD P.s. I Bought A New Battery For It A Week Ago & Its Dead Already(feels Like Ghost In The Shell) Anybody?!? Ty

Hmm sounds like your alternator is your problem causing all the lights when stopped , is your power steering leaking?

car doesn't run & b4 this it started no problem. power steering was leaking but the problem was fixed b4 this started(plugged pump & sealed vacuum lines) & after the lesk was fixed it started right up. its wasn't til i started the car & the throttle body was blocked this occurred.

i know ur probably tired of hearin this but "mechanic says" he was tryin to crank it which is why the battery is probably dead & the car did the same thing, it started for a split second than shes kaput. im gonna give him till monday the latest than im takin her back(monday will be 12 days). wouldnt the alternator show on the codes??
