Default Higher Stall Converter Questioin?

I have to get another tranny and torque converter. Thinking of higher stall as I like the way the bimmers drive with this feature. What do you think?
Any suggestions if I do and any recommendations not to do it and why?

sounds good to me! you might get the tires to bark with a stronger convertor...
where would you get it from?

bmw engines are very different and the transmission itself is geared more aggressively. basically a tc wont give u the same effect.

it Will make u launch better (and harder) but be prepared for a slight-moderate MPG drop (search in the GS forums for an ~figure).

the two companies i know of making Torque converters for the 1UZ/A-series transmission is Precision Industries (Dragon TC ~$850-1000 new) or Lextreme (Rebuilt custom stall TC ~$200-300+core)

I believe it's 2200RPM. It's easy to tell though- just stomp on it from a stop and look at what speed your engine is turning at before the RPM's start rising rapidly. It's a little harder to see but also apparent just driving normally.
