Default 18x9" Wheels for a 95 LS400

I am looking into getting a set of 18x9" wheels (all the way around) with a 38mm offset and a 2.5" lip. Will the 18x9 fit under the front fender without any modification?

I have 18 x 8.5 up front with 35mm off set and 245/40's. It doesn't rub - I have it dropped about 2 inches though. It rubbed when it was at stock ride height over bumps and dips. I think you will be really close to rubbing even with stretched tires.

These are the wheels I am planning to put on...what do you guys think? There are actually some 19x8.5 with 2.5" lip and 19x9.5 with a 3" lip. They are going on a Ferrari 355 replicar I am building out of an MR2. The 18x9s will look almost identical...

BAD NEWS...Tried fitting the 19"x8.5" wheels I had in my garage, and they hit the brakes. I would need at least a 15-20mm spacer to make them work. Doesn't look like I will be buying those 18x9's afterall. Glad I tried them before buying the new ones...

yeah you gotta be really careful about brake clearance and buying wheels for our cars. Our selection is pretty crappy. I think I'll just settle on a set of LS430 5-spoke 18" wheels, as seen on tjw98ls' car.

I was going to buy the LS430 wheels also but held out until I found a set that better suited me. I like the 430 rims but wanted a different look. I went though 12 or so rims before finding one that cleared the calipers. I didn't want to go the spacer route - one shop offered to grind the calipers!

lol...that's not gonna happen (smile). The brakes on the 95 LS are about the same size as my Supra brakes in the front....

What do you recommend when trying to find a wheel that will work?
