Need to identify what year my 1uz HELP!!!! Please
hey guys, i need some help... i have a 1uz engine in my 98 tacoma but i hit a couple problems! i need to know what year my engine is but i dunnno how to tell? attached in the first pic is a pic of my ecu... judging by the plugs, could you guys determine what generation is. the second pic is my buddy's ecu plugs. he's putting a 1uz in a 78(?) corolla but has different wiring then me. his is off of a 91 and i was told mine was outta a 92? help please i want this done!!

cause he bought his engine with a cut engine harness and no computer. he bought a computer with the same plugs as mine but the plugs on his harness were different. his is outta a 91 and i was told mine was outof a 92. he needs to get the correct harness but we have no clue what year or gen mine is

Well, just trying to narrow down your options. It is definitely older than 98. Was it in 98 that they revised the intake manifold or 99? Also, I seem to remember that in some year (maybe 95 or 96) that the exhaust headers or manifold was revised. I can only remember bits and pieces. I'll try to find that thread.
