Question Remove '91 door panel

I plan to replace my stock speaker. Do I have to remove the seat memory button cover to take the door apart? And what size Focal component speakers I could put in there? 5.5" or 6.5" And where I could get the best deal on this speaker ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well , I don't have any specifics about the speaker , but on removing the door panel.

I had a problem getting it off on my 1991.
The wood trim, with all the window buttons
comes off by lightly prying the top or bottom
edge , use a small screw driver with tape dso you
don't scratch it. Then just unplug the harness.
There are about 5 or 6 screws, pretty easy to locate.

Now for the part I couldn't figure out.
The panel is still attached around the door
handle trim area. I don't see a screw or a clip
at all and I couldn't get it off !
So I put everything back.
I've read somewhere you have to insert a screwdriver into a recessed clip to release it ?

Hope that helps.

By the way , I particular to Boston Acoustic Speakers. I think they are the best sounding
speakers around.

If removing the door panel, be careful. It can be very easy to break something when removing door panels (on any car) and sometimes can be difficult to get it back together correctly, as well as a chance of having annoying squeaks and rattles. Sorry no more help.

A few advices here. First is you have to build a baffle (custom speaker support) to fit anything larger then 4" drivers. Pictures here:

Also if you really have to use Focals, I suggest you select the tweeter power to -4db (x-over option). Focal tweets are really loud.

Removing the door is like what everyone already said.

Speaker wise you can't fit anything larger then a 4" speaker unless you plan on some serious custom work and I do mean serious.
