Default 1ls Bfi?

Has anyone done a bfi on a 1LS? It seems like everywhere I look they have been done on sc400's and I saw one for a 2LS, but that has a different radiator cover/snorkel. Any help for a 1LS would be great.

intake solutions have already been discussed, please search

a lot of the stuff us 2LS guys do (found in the 2LS sticky) are somewhat applicable to 1LS as well.

I have searched. I have two issues, one is the snorkel/radiator covering on the 2ls which acts as a roof for the airbox, the other issue is how to get cold air to the box in the first place. I read that you remove the headlight gasket but that seems awfully restrictive.

I already read lexkost's mod, but I also read that the K&N filter is more restrictive and filters less, so I was hoping to stick with the stock filter. So if I removed the gasket around the headlight will it provide enough airflow?

i didnt even need any rubber trim.. the stock filter clips back on fine.. if you want to leave the rest of the factory intake on except the plastic canister you'll be getting soem "cold air" from that as well

you'll also be getting some hot air too, thinking about trying to block off the hot air entrance and keep the stock "ram air" thing in the front. probably gonna do it tomorrow.

I think you are talking about the snorkel on top of the radiator.

tried to make a sample one with cardboard to try and block off the hot air, and its just impossible. theres too many wire harnesses around the intake and its a tight fit.
