Default 94 LS 400 questions

Great sight folks, thanks. Bought a nice looking/driving 94 LS 400 147,000 miles, garaged, last weekend from the second owner and have a few questions...
I bought the car knowing these issues.

1) The gas guage registers 1/2 tank when filled and spends most of it's time on empty, the gas needle is lit. Any advice would be appreciated.

2) My speedo needle works 95% of the time but occasionally will lag behind when accelerating from a stop. I read CHUBYBALL's thread but was unable to access the file.

3) My power steering has the white smoke on start up and add fluid occasionally problem - no leaks in the garage. Suneet had a super post on this issue and I'm picking up a 17630-16040 air control valve for $105.38 at Lexus tomorrow for a weekend project. Is there a tutorial to replace this part?

Many thanks in advance for your assistance. I'll be checking the site again tonight.

David

welcome to ClubLexus David, first off, the gas gauge problem could be caused by a faulty resister and u can look it up on one of the stickys. i replaced a number of them and i posted it in that thread. numbers 2 and 3 i have no idea how to answer it so i cant help u there. www.lexls.com has alot of DIY info.
