LS 400 Ashtray
It used to open with a little touch but now will not open no matter how i push, pull & cajole. please help. Am i missing something? Called Lexus , they said it was spring activated and was not fixable and I would have to order whole unit for $235.00 This seems wholly unacceptable, a $50000.00 car only 3 yrs. old needs an ashtray for $235.00.? Why would'nt they make the ashtray simply a pull out unit that would never break down? All I want to do is use the ashtray for my garage door opener, but I'll be damned if I will spend $235.00 in order to open my ashtray.I am waiting for service manual I ordered from Gordon at Carlson Toyota. Hopefully it will provide some guidance. Until then someone out there may be able to help me . Thank you!.

Ashtray LS400
With the help of Rod from town hall , a little WD 40 and a nudge to left with cloth covered screwdriver my ashtray is now operable! I guess I could have heeded the Lexus guy and gotten a whole new unit for $235.00 but this was more satisfying and free.
