I talked to an A/C repair shop owner and he said by changing the freon annually will extend the life of the AC system a lot longer. He quoted $135.00 for this job. What do you think?

I think you might as well just write him a check for $135 and drive away all the wiser. Not only would it do no good at all eventually he would screw something up working on a system that wasn't designed to need ANY maintenance service.

But if you go for it I'd like to talk to you about servicing your home freezers and refrigerators on an annual basis.

Cleaning the condensor with a garden hose once in awhile might be appropreate for annual maintenance.
