il only say that its slightly more difficult than the average car.
the 98-00 are significantly more difficult but the fact of the matter is that if a pro theif wants your car there is damn near nothing you can do to stop it
Don't even bother putting on the "Club". Any low life joy rider thief can defeat that in less than 30 seconds. Plus, you will have to replace your steering wheel when they recover your car. The only good thing the club is useful for is hitting the thief on the head with it when you catch him.

i think your right, 97 was the first year with the immobilizer iirc
Well all Lexus LS400's have had immobilizers since 1990, but 1997 was the first to have a transponder in the key head. The immobilizer in 1990-1996 models is a simple one triggered by the activation of the vehicle's alarm.
would you mind I ask a dumb question: exactly how to put a kill switch? do I just buy a on off toggle switch from radio shack ? all I know is oil change.

In most cases yes. Basically you are just interupting a particular voltage input wire that is neccessary for you to start the car. That could be ignition, or fuel. As without either your car wont run. You could also interupt the starter. Now, with that said, you need to know the current draw of the said circuit wire you are trying to interupt so you can buy the appropriately rated switch or use a relay of needed. Otherwise it basically is just adding a switch to a wire. For example. Cut the 12V power wire to the fuel pump and the fuel pump will not work obviously. Now attach a swith inline of that wire and you can now turn the fuel pump on or off at will. The idea is to hide that switch so only you know where it is and in a place that is readily accessable to you.
