Default Second Gen LS Wood Dash Kit

Since there are so many opinions on the wood dash kits that are available I thought I would post my pics and share my results for those interested in this inexpensive upgrade. Many here say they look cheesy and crack and/or fade. Others say they like them. I bought my kit for $129 delivered (18 pieces). There were kits from $99 to $300. The kit matches the OEM burlwood perfectly. Installation took about 30 minutes and was not difficult. Definitely it is recommended to test fit each piece first before applying any of them. All in all it was well worth the modest investment. Take a look at the pics and judge for yourself:

The problem with those kits in my opinion, is not the kit itself, but the application. Putting the decals over everything, such as the radio and the climate control, is just "too much." If it were only on the vents and the trim around the door handle, it would compliment the factory wood nicely. Even the factory woodgrain radio on older ES300's just looks tacky IMO.

I have one of those in my car (it was already on when i bought it), it looks ok, not a 100% match but very close
I was contemplating removing it as it started to peel away a little bit on the center vent area because it is curved and because whoever applied it didn't center the track/seek button and it doesnt' push /return easily

Looks good Steve. I put one very similar to yours on my 1LS and am very very pleased with the improved appearance to the interior. Did your kit come out of Brooklyn?

Thanks it came out of Brooklyn - probably from the same place. The kit was very specific to clean the areas with alcohol, etc. for proper adhesion, etc.

I got that trim for my 96 ls as well. But recently took out the trim around the radio because i switched it out for an aftermarket stereo. Wish i could've taken pictures but i'll try to catch some flicks of how it looks now.

Steveski,
Could you share the company name, phone number or web site? I have been looking for a kit for my GS4.

PS. Looks great! How about a few close up shots?

Sure bro. I will PM you with the details. I just bought my Father-in-Law a kit for his 99 GS 400 yesterday (it should arrive Friday). I will post close up pics on this thread or send them to you via email.
