Default firework smell after flooring car 92 LS

so every time i floor it, a little while after (about 10-20 secs) i can smell something like fireworks. it only happens when i floor it, not daily driven around. also it does it at any rpm. if i floor it at 2k rpm, it will still smell, if i did it on the freeway (around 3k rpm, it smells too) id like to know what problems have this symptom. thanks.

MY CAR INFO:
-1992 ls400
-196xxx miles
-supposedly it has a jdm engine with around 60xxx (im not too sure of this, but then the guy that sold it to me said he took out the toyota emblem on the engine and was going to replace it with a lexus emblem...so right now there is no emblem on the engine, however i do have the toyota emblem that is supposed to go on the engine)
-COMPLETELY STOCK!!!!!!!!

Maybe its a sign of the cats going bad? Try driving the car hard for a bit and see if they are glowing red... and do a search on cats to find out more, I don't really know too much aboiut this subject.

have the cats checked immediately.

what you are smelling is most likely sulfur dioxide caused by cheap/dead catalytic converters.

hrmm, check the fuel injectors and hardlines, it may be a damaged o-ring thats causing a tiny amount of fuel to leak and burn.

i remember the old 4Runners used to have a similar problem caused by the particular design of the Cats but there was a TSB as it was relatively widespread...

id check to see if the past owner ever replaced the cat(s), some cats function perfectly yet still produce the "rotten egg" odor. (mostly the cheaper ones)
