Default Viper Alarm system??

Back when I had my Lincoln LS, someone broke into it and the alarm had been disabled somehow, however the doors were still locked. That made me decide to buy a Viper Alarm system. I never installed it on my old car so its been in my garage for 3 or 4 months.

MY question is, should I install the alarm sytem on my LS400?? The main reason I bought it was because of the perimeter alarm.

Hss anyone had luck with these?

Is it worth replacing the oringal alarm system?

Thanks guys,

Jeff

any alarm can be disabled unless it has a backup battery

best bet is to thoroughly research available systems and see what fits your needs/pricerange.

ive heard good things on Clifford, or any of DEI's companies.

I have a Clifford 50.5 Matrix that I installed myself in the car.

I mostly bought it becuase I didn't even have keyless entry, and then I wanted the novelty and usefulness of remote start.. and it provides those great.

IN terms of protection.. its got a good shock sensor that is tough to get around. I haven't installed the glass break sensor, but its another 20 bucks or so.

My alarm has the two-way LCD remote which really comes in handy. It also has a range of upto a mile (sometimes I get close to this range with elevation! But most of the time figure 500 yards... which is still impressive).

I love when you think to yourself.. "oh shoot, did I lock the car?", and you just pull out your keys and the display shows you that yes, you locked it.

It doesn't have to replace the original alarm system: it piggy backs. You have two alarms.

I have a Viper, like the 2nd most expensive one.

It has starter kill, backup battery, remote start..etc all that stuff

I paid like 500, installed @ Best Buy. I don't have problems with it, except I keep dropping the damn remote, and it breaks.
