Default 18" wheel question w/spring and shock combo

im looking to get some wheels 18x10J+22 w/ 245-40's and 18x11.5+28 w/255-40's on some bilstein and tanabe springs (lowest drop combo for spring/shock if i did my research correctly). how low would it actually sit cuz im not sure if the guy that started that thread had 18"s? also would i have any fitment issues?

ps can anyone/everyone post up pics of 18's w/spring shock combo so i can have an idea of how it will sit like? thanks.

I can't really comment on your wheel offset since mine is different. Your width will require fender modifications. My wheels are 18x8.5 front (245x35) and 18x9.5 rear (285x40). I have Bilstein HD/H&R (Bilstein set on lowest spring perch). I bottom out on speed bumps, etc. Here are 2 pics that show stance (I have no finger gap at all on front or rear).

Meant to say that I have no room at the fender for more wheel or tire but have about 1.5-2" on the inside toward the strut. If it fits you could run a whopper on the rear. My 285 is a good sized sneaker.

Your width and offsets will require fender mods and negative camber. Definitely shaving and maybe even a pull for the rears. You might also want to consider 225-235 for the fronts.

i think the rears may fit with a shave but the fronts will need major work.

but brian knows best

whats a shave?

i guess ill research more and try to find some wheels that fit without needing a pull or "shave". maybe 18x9 and 18x10 w/ +25 offsets???

Shaving means trimming the inner fender down. 18x9, 18x10 +25 will poke out a bit on the Tanabe/Bilstein strut combo.

What sort of fitment are you looking for.. tuck? flush?

If you're looking for either , you're not going to achieve it with that strut combo. Go air or coilovers.

mainly flush, then tuck a little but i dont really care. i would like to get coilovers, but i dont know where/who(as in company/sites) sells them. **** i cant even find a place that sells bilstien shocks for my car. how do u search for things? haha. man this aint like the 240sx scene where all u have to do is type "240sx coilover" and u get a bunch of stuff.

but i was planning on just getting the spring/shock combo and riding it like that. im mainly concerned about getting it flush as possible, if it wasnt tucked enough, id just chop off a coil and be done with that tucked problem. whats a good offset to get it very flush? id assume if +25 is too much then maybe around the 30's? if so damn i might as well just go sportsmax (18/19x9.5 +35 all around) wheels now till i can save up some more.

Your fenders are gonna have to be modified to get it flushed. If you don't want to pull, you can try a roll or a shave. 18x9 +10, 18x10 +5 should get you pretty flush.

Look at JIC's website if you want to go the coilover route.
