Default Suspension question about '97

Gday! My LS400 has the ride adjustable air suspension (with the switch on the center console from High to Normal) and it still works quite well (On a side note, did all 97's have this?) so I don't really want to replace it but would like to lower the car by around an inch or 1 1/2. That way I can ride low when I want and ride normal when I want so when I am bashing through the canyons of LA I don't take out my sump. Any ideas on how? The guy at F1 said it could be done but due to $$$, I can't just give it to him to do but I am racking my brain trying to figure out how!!! Any ideas??

no, its a somewhat buggy option in first gen cars so most 2nd gens dont have it.

u need an air ride controller which ranges in price from ~$600-1000. call Carson, they import them.

Is it worth spending that kind of money on something like that? Would it operate ok? Is it hard to install? Was that kind of suspension good or bad?
