Hi,

I know that the earlier LS´s have problems with the blackned out
LCDs but has anyone experienced this with the ´98-´00 models?

I'm starting to lose segments from the audio LCD (I think it´s Pioneer).
Not a huge defect but still irritating.

How to fix this? Supposedlı not very easy...

I've had this problem before, and it used to come and go. But it usually fixed itself for teh most part. I'm guessing there is a fix for it, but I didnt really look into it, because it was very minor, and only did it once every blue moon.


EDIT: are you talking about the light bulb going out? or segments of the writting?

If its the light, then it could be a simple lightbulb, or an LED... not sure. But an LED would be more work to replace.

well if it is the writing i don't know of any other way but replacing the whole unit. but you could try a electrical replair service. i guess

My 95 has the intermittent LED lighting issue (dim, off and on) and there is one piece of the lettering that is just burned out - it is on the C in CD or F in FM. As long as it works I am happy. I believe you are right in if it is in the writing it means replacement.

It´s the writing I ment. Also the LED behind the power/volume button has
gone out but it´s not the lightning that bothers me.

I´ve read that for older models you can get the LCD´s fixed but
has anyone done it for the latest (98-00) LS´s.

I know that it´s just a small defect but still would like to get it fixed.

If it is just one part of the letter or symbol the solder on the board has broken off.
