Default PIC REQUEST: 98-00 LS400 with aftermarket wheels

Hello all,

Longtime im not in here. I have been working alot, life has been through alot of phases, but not to fear I am still a loyal CL member. I didnt even have to look up my password or username haha.

But anyways. I have a 98 LS400, and i love the car, I am at the point where I want new wheels. SO I want to know what the car is going to look like, mainly in proportion with 20's. Because I am pretty sure that, that is the size I am going to get. Also any reccomendations are welcome.

From the pics of the gallery, the car sits really high-stock with wheels on it. And I also noticed that it is not an easy car to mod, if even modded, I didnt see alot in gallery. I dont know how to explain it but the car seems "thin" unlike the LS430 which seems alot more "fuller" which imo sits better with aftermarket wheels, so this isnt going to be easy as I thought, due to the cars classic look.

But with all this being said...I just need pics of modded 98-00 LS400, because Im starting to think that just slapping some wheels on is going to do me like it did for the GS, which although there was still more tweeking needing made, it made a "huge" difference on the car. Im afraid that 20's just wont look right by themself on the car. with my 98 GS they looked fine if not good.

well thanks in advance guys, and its nice posting here again, i feel like at im at home lol.

Thanks pure drifter, that thread helped alot, looks like I am going to definately need to drop it, looks like some guys have achieved pretty good results with just swapping out the springs, which I might do. I'll probably go for a good 2" drop or the lowest I can get without rubbing. since I am going 20's.

So I am going to start doing my research on which springs to get, anyone know if anyone has a set for sale??? Are springs from all gen. LS400's interchangeable??

man!! so many things I want to do, I just have to be patient. I am eager to get the modding started. Hopefully I will have some wheels within 2 weeks.

but thanks again for the thread, looks like the car can be modded nicely without too much work, and the results should be nice. I was worried there that the car would look tacky without a nice body kit and fully upgraded suspension.

aftermarket shocks/springs are a better way to lower lower than just springs, any drop more than 1" on factory shocks will cause them to blow prematurely.

springs alone are not interchangeable. coilovers however, are to a degree. 1st gen coilovers can be used on 2nd gen cars, but not vice versa.

best option for the UCF2x imho is bilstein shocks+tanabe or eibach springs.
