when I start my car none of the gauges work no power anything unless i rev the engine up really high then all the electrical things come on. ANy ideas what is going on? I just replaced the battery, I have double checked all the fuses.

have the alternator tested.

also check all the major grounding wires.

I'm having the Alternator testd tomorrow, good idea with the ground wires!

also check the spring on your idler bearing. if it is shot there wont be enough tension on the belt, thus not turning the alternator. the tension in the belt would increase a bit when you rev your engine, which may be why you get power when you rev it.

Problem solved.....it was an alternator fuse or relay, that I had checked prior to changing the battery, it must have shorted during the battery change.
