Default Checking timing on '98 LS 400

Do any of you know how to check the timing on a LS400? It seems mine sort of stumbles on full throttle take off from dead stop.

The manual says every 60,000 and thats what the dealer will try to make you do too, as i get reminded every time its there since i am at 72,000 and it has not been replaced.
