old tyme cell phone
How do I unlock that crazy old cell phone in my armrest. It is a lexus phone cause there is controls on the steering wheel that I can't figure out how to use. The phone just says locked, then it turns off. If I get it hooked to a cell service, is there only one company I can hook it through?

You must sign up with a primary service provider and have them activate your phone. The provider must support the original "analog" types of phones, not the newer digital PCS types.
The arm-rest / handset type of phone that was being offered in the 1990 models is one that I am personally familiar with. It was such an awful piece of crap that you wouldn't want to use it on a regular basis. Operation from the buttons on the side of the steering column was one of its few redeeming qualities.
You can find one of my posts on this forum from a couple of weeks ago that goes into specifics about the problems of that Motorola phone.
