Thumbs up

I've rebuilt nearly 100 Bosch style injectors now. You just replace the filter at the top, new o-rings, and a new pintle. This works for the Des I and II only.

Kits are on ebay, can't think of the guy but if you search they are there.

Or

Send them to RC Engineering for ultrasonic clean + balance.

Default Excellent information!

Thanks..very informative site..Can a more powerful (if that term is correct) fuel injector be used in a 1990 LS400? If so,is it worth it? Maybe i should just rebuild the stock injectors? Comments/suggestions greatly appreciated!

If you are looking for a performance change with a stock engine...it's probably not going to show. I'd inquired about having mine flow balanced when I had my starter replaced (Since they were easily accessed at the time.) He relayed I'd probably not see any change for the expense. My call so I didn't have it done.

Now if you have other mods where the engine is flowing better, (the stock injectors are capable with typical exhaust and intake filter) then it may be worth it to have higher flowing injectors. YMMV

Daves and Retro's turbo'd LS's, prime examples.

there is no reason for bigger injectors unless the stock injectors are above 80% duty cycle... if you dont know what duty cycle is then you dont need bigger injectors.

point is, dont worry about it just have them cleaned if you really think they need to be, but to clean them properly they will have to be removed and sent to RC like stated above

Unless you need the extra fuel, there is no reason to upgrade.

If you are having injector trouble, try Lucas Injector Cleaner first. I ran into bad gas on a trip to FL last spring and when I finally found it--it had been recommended by another club member, the car ran smoother after ten miles of driving than it had ever run since I'd had it! Super stuff! Good luck! It should save you a lot of $$$$$$$$$$!!
