in my 95 which i had for ~1.5 years i did almost ALL the work myself, so only had to pay for parts.

i changed the :
-Power Steering High Pressure Hose=~$250shipped
-$25 worth of ATF for the PS
-3x$35 Oil Changes (Mobil1+filter)=$105
-Sylvania Silverstar Highs, Lows, and Fogs=$75

Total__________________________=$455
add in the strut bar bushings i was about to change before the car got totalled and u have about $575-625 total.

Most of my mods were preventative maintenance , why replace with OEM parts when you can upgrade ,but thanks for pointing that out.

This is all I've done in the past 3 weeks to my 93 LS:

Water pump (first time ever changed)
timing belt (first time too)
rear main seal (a ***** to change)
dizzy caps and rotors
spark plugs
spark plug cables
valve cover gasket (one side only though)
oil change (205455 miles)

Most of this I did alone and others with the help of my father-in-law.

I hope not to touch this car for a good while, other than cosmetics.

Bought the car (94 LS 400) in May '06 w/143k on the clock.
$915 A/C compressor
$700 Tires w/alignment
$130 Climate Control LCD
$140 Driver side door handle.

Two oil changes, forget the price. Car now has 159k. It'll need new struts before long.

I beleive it did, everything looked orignal from factory. The TB could have still gone a bit more, but why risk it. The water pump was also original. The new one (from the dealer) looked totally different (fins) and will probably last a long, long time.

nothing ever went wrong in 120,000mi since my grandparents got the car in 1994.

the week I buy it from them the starter died - ~$150
then the fan pulley seized ~$200

thats it... i need to get a new window motor so that'll be around $60 for a cardone reman

i also need to do the rotors, but im thinking of holding off and putting 95+ brakes on it, i just need to find wheels first, thats gonna run around $250 for the replacement / upgrade

I also need a new ignition key, but that was my fault and the door lock button on the dr side door has decided to detach on one side, so its kinda crooked.

the seats/steering wheel needs to be redone as well

not that much really... the buick is just as reliable though and makes about twice the power

I bought my '96 3 years ago with 57K on it. It had a new battery, tires and brake pads per PO.
I've put an additional 50K on it. I have not had a breakdown that left me stranded or the car un-driveable. I've not thrown any OBD codes. I think that's pretty commendable of the car.
I've done all of the filter and fluid changes per schedule myself - probably spent about $150.
New tires - $350
New brake pads and rotors - $400
New plugs - $25
New fan clutch - $60
New trut rods - $200
New tranny mount - $30
I've carefully inspected the TB and it looks good.
No coolant loss, no oil loss, but...Small PS fluid leak (typical) - I'm still trying to track down the source. It could be a hose ($200), the rack ($800), or the pump ($50 for seal kit). At this point, it's just a nuisance...takes a little ATF every couple of weeks.
So at this point, I've blown a little over $1200 in part + $0 on dealer/indie labor. Not too bad for such a nice car.
