Default Power Steering Fluid Question -- 92 LS

I just got my power steering and alternator replaced by a local shop( 250XXX km), and when I got home I was checking my power steering fluid level. All is well, except I now have red fluid instead of the previous golden color fluid. Does this make any difference? I know that with coolant, certain types are for certain cars, does the same apply with P/S fluid, or am I good to go?

"PS fluid" is the wrong thing to use. period. end of question.

all the LS' owners and repair manuals, as well as the sticker on top of hte PS pump cap say that it requires Dexron III Transmission fluid.

make sure to flush, not just drain.

ATF is cheap enough that its not much more $ anyways
