Default Engine Temp guage not returning to cold?

Temp guage only goes down to about 3/4, then as it warms up it is pegged past hot. Any ideas how to fix? Also, battery dies overnight, like something is draining it. Any common places to check? Thanks

Sure you have enough coolant fluid? When was the last time it was flushed? If your fluid is really old, a flush should definitely help.

Check the battery, automotive places like Kragen, Autozone, heck even WalMart have free service where they check to see if your battery holds its charge. They will also tell you if your alternator is bad...

...as for the constant drain, I think a few here have mentioned that the CD player in the trunk might be one of many systems to check.

I had a drain on my system for a while, until I realized that it was the aftermarket alarm/keyless entry system someone installed (a rather shoddy device as well). Once I yanked the system and patched up, everything runs and charges fine...process of elimination works best. Good luck.

Sounds like the board on the cluster is damaged.
