Unhappy 1992 LS400 Exhaust Replacement

Hello. I have a 1992 LS400 that's rusting out badly and now leaking starting at the tail end of the front cats, into the front "Y" pipe, and at the tail end of the middle cat/pipe. Already brought it to 3 different muffler shops in Kentucky and all turned me away stating that these parts are no longer available, at least through their direct suppliers. Can someone please recommend the best on-line source for such parts, including new front cats as the flanges on those are almost gone too. My on-line searches have ended only in questionable suppliers with no or bad BBB ratings and I don't want to get burned with the money I'm about to spend. Already checked with Lexus on OE replacements and I cannot afford. Searched LS400 forum and couldn't come up with any good links either. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

You should try TapsRecycling if you really want OEM. I don't remember the website but you can search on google or yahoo for it. If it were me, I would just get custom straight pipes with maybe a resonator in each end, but thats just me. I like the sound of the V8 so I'm not gonna it hide behind some luxury mufflers.

wow its been like 2 years since I've been on CL.haha.

Red face RE: 92 LS400 Exhaust Replace

OK, thanks much LS_4Will. I found the site. Had no idea it was out there. If they have what I need and I do end up using them, I'll let you know how good the product is. Probably need to find a car from the South as mine has been driven in 13 Chicago winters and hence all the rust. Pipes are fine but flanges connecting pipes are definitely not. Thought it was all stainless but perhaps not.

I'd probably go the custom route but car is too old now and I really cannot take a louder note as I drive from Louisville to Chicago a lot and the sound would really start to wear on me.

Thanks again.
