Hello All,
I have a '98 LS400. I recently replaced the battery. Now, whenever I start up the car, it gives an Alarm kind of beep. Occasionally the ignition stops completely, like the security or something grounds out the ignition so the engine won't start. The motor cranks fine, but it won't fire up. If I let the car sit for a few minutes it starts right up, after it beeps at me, of course.

Any ideas?

P.S. Are Toyota Dealers "certified" to work on Lexus'?

Well, it sounds like security alarm to me. If it is a new car, check if the previous owner didn't secure him in some extraordinary way But that's just my guess...
