Default Dashboard lights ALL stay on, then turn off - During Braking

In the morining when I start my car ( 92 LS400 ) or when the car has
sat for a long time, the Dashboard lights will stay on until I drive
for a little bit and then they turn off. After I have driven for a
while, I have to press on the brakes, the lights will sometimes come
on, but the minute I start to accelerate, they go off again.

Please Help!!!

I replaced the battery and I had the alternator checked and it shows
that it is charging fine.

Any and All Help would be Greatly Appreciated....I have taken to 2
Foreign Car Repairmen and they are clueless. Nearest Dealer is 2 hour
drive away.

I know this may sound strange, but the next thing to check is the wiring harness which is attached to the driver's side trunk hinge. Pull the harness away from the hinge, unwrap the wires, and check to see if any of them are broken. The most common culprit is a ground wire that is white with a black stripe.

The broken wire problem is very common in the early to mid-90's LS models. It creates some very weird electrical problems which seem to vary a lot from one car to another.

This has been discussed numerous times. Do a search using the phrase: "broken wire in trunk hinge wiring harness."

If they're off when its cold and on when it warms up in the cabin, it could be the legendary dash circuit board issue.

Default Ground wire problem

Hey, I just had some weird symptoms come up in my 90 Lexus LS400, including the reverse light indicator coming on when I push the brake, no reverse lights, even shifting problems. I looked at the wire harness on the driver side trunk hinge, and pulling it apart, found the white wire with black stripe, but no apparent damage. I inadvertently gave the wire a tug, and it came right out, completely corroded from the other side of the wire. After making a good connection in reconnecting the ground wire, everything is fine. Anywho, I thought I would contribute to the findings.
