Default 98 navigation in 95 ls400

can someone please tell me it is possible? i saw this 98 navigation with ac/heat controls all together on ebay and was wondering if it was possible to install this in my 95 ls400. are the plugs in the back the same ? i have pics that compare them both.. it seems like the only problem i would have is the size .. if thats the case can i just use the vent from the 98 ls400 also because it doesnt come with the time and temp ?

if i get this and a navi brain will i be able to get it to work?

-No eBay Links please-

thats the picture of the 95 dash board

that is the picture of the non navigation option of the 98 ls.. size seems the same as the 95

some one pleasee let me know i really want this badly..

it ont, theres a lot more integrated into the whole car than just teh navi, there is no central "brain" to the navi system.

This topic has been discussed many times here.
I'll save you time and just tell you that as drifter said, it is not feasible to do this.
You will be better off buying a portable nav, like Garmin Nuvi 350.
Once you do, you will never go back...

or if u want the clean dash look pick up a 2-din indash setup like the pioneer AVIC D1/2/3 or Z1 and get a good stereo place to make u up a dash kit.

By brain, I think he means the navigation unit in the trunk...

First of all, its really hard to adapt the harness to the same exact year model LS, much less one with a different harness all together. You will need to fabricate lots of harnesses, and find a good amount of parts, ones usually hard to find, and lots of customization work to make it happen. Not to mention, I wouldn’t buy anything from that seller if he paid me too.

Someone has already done it on a GS… to gasp how much work is involved, have a look here:

When you look at that... note that it is from the same / similar year GS, not one that has had some significant changes to it (from 98+ with ECU changes for VVT-I, HID, Navi, etc)

I'd recommend aftermarket. You'll get a much newer generation Nav unit as well (vs the (comparabily) poor screen resolution, slow processing and hd-based 98 Nav).
