So, I recovered my car, which was stolen two weeks ago, and I just discovered that the VIN number tag on the dashboard is missing.... When I look through the windshield where the VIN tag is suposed to be, all I see is the Toyota label. The dashboard seems otherwise intact, and so is the windshied. I can't even imagine how they managed to remove the tag without causing further damage. Also, the tags on the doors are intact. I'm kind of starting to suspect that I've purchased the car without this tag, although I have the title and all the paper work. What should I do about this?
funny, my vin plate is the same way. I can see the toyota sticker and the vin plate has slipped down, but i cant reach it with any angle needle nose pliers...
Interesting... Im gonna get a flashlight and take a look, maybe my tag is there, just slipped down like yours. Can any other LS400 owners check their and confirm?
Ok guys, sorry for the false alert. It turns out that the VIN number is there, its just that I have a high light reflection in the shop so I couldn't make out the VIN number on the Toyota sticker. But in any case, that VIN number is VERY hard to read.
