Need help with Tire Sizes for LS400
hi everyone!
...was going to be running 18x8 +45 offset in the front and 18x9 +44 offset in the rear. would this clear front/rear oem calipers (1990 LS400)? is so, what size tires should i get? btw i do have a 2 inch drop currently on some oem 16" rims with no current issues. using stock air suspension.
looking for overall look/ride quality and less tire wear possible.
i was thinking 225/40/18 front and 235/40/18 rear?
what do you think?
let me know
also..since im riding air suspension..do these caps come off so i can put a strut bar? or is it the top part of the strut and cannot be taken off?
post replies please.

I'm running the same size rim as you , 18 x 9 on the rear and 18 x 8 on the front , I have on 235/40/18 front and 265/35/18 rear , they look really good and clear with no probs , a 235 on a 9" rim is a bit small , the tyre will fit OK but it will pull a little bit so the profile won't be correct , on a 9" rim a 255 is the smallest I would run .
The 265's on the back look awesome , big fat feet !!
That front strut top is a cover for the dampening and air motor drives , there's no reason you can't leave it off , be careful removing it as the wires for said drive run through a grommet in the side .

well, as for me, im a vip enthusiasts so my constructive criticism would go for the stretched tire look. for 18x8 and 18x9, the offset your going for is a bit high, so i'd rec. some spacers to push it out a little, who knows though, put on the wheels and see how far they stick in. as for tire sizes, i'd say 215 40 18 for the front and 225 40 18 for the rear. BUT it isnt good for daily driving especially if you drive pretty fast lol. as for myself, im going to be running 225 40 19 for the front and 235 40 19 for the rear, for 19x9 F and 19x10 R.

yup i like that look too..UCF20
making this ls not all vip, but more conservative for a daily driver..
19" rims most definent..wouldnt go with no other size if going for the vip look.
this one is my daily driver...so want to make it more driveable but still clean looking.
thanks everyone for there replies..really appreciate it!
