has anyone done this mod?.........what happens to the air-flow meter......if you do a short ram the AFM is no longer present....so what happens to it.....i've seen pics of it done and all you see is the intake....all the factory stuff is removed.....so w/out the AFM shouldn't you get a check engine code......ANYONE....ANYONE......

if i remember correctly the AFM fits into the intake right before the metal tube and right after the cone.

I wonder what would happen if you run without MAF. When I was working on my tune up and throttle body, I did run the car without the MAF on, the check engine light was on but the car ran fine. Of course I didnt run it past 2k rpm. I guess it would run too rich, I don't know of any other problems.

running the car w/o the MAF would most certainly cause some damage. the MAF and O2 sensor work in conjunction with the ECU to determine important factors such as timing and A/F ratios.

the reason why it wont rev >2k is because the ECU is programmed to put the motor into a "safe" or "limp home" mode if the MAF signal is cut.

Well, I didn't say it wouldn't rev past 2k, I just was easy on it, and didn't rev it past 2k.

The JBrady "BFI" intake mod is pretty sweet, and as shown, much superior to any "flashy" aftermarket intake set-up.

hey ill sell you my ingen intake for 20$ and your stock intake. its a chrome pipe from the throttle body to the afm. it has bungs for the 2 vac lines and a filter for the intake side of the afm. its really nice and very clean inside and out. i think its the reason im throwing a cel though and the little light pisses me off more than the (*$0)% hp you gain.

if anyone is interested just pm me and ill try to get pics of it on my car.
