Pics of Windshield and Window Glass Manufacturing Stamp Needed
Just wondering if someone with a 90-92 North American LS400 can post up some pics of the manufacturing stamp on the windshield and also on one of the side windows. I need to see if the glass equipped on a 1991 JDM Toyota Celsior is the same as the glass equipped on a NA spec LS400 of the same general era. Thanks.

My Toyota Celsior from Japan requires a provincial safety inspection before it can be registered and driven on the roads of BC. One such item that they look at is if the auto glass meets federal standards. This is usually denoted by a marking on the glass like AS1,AS2 among others etc. Unfortunately my glass doesn't have these markings but does have a big LEXUS marking on it which makes me think that the glass from a JDM Toyota Celsior is the same as used in NA Lexus LS400's (they are the same car afterall...). If I can show that NA LS400 also does not have these markings on the glass then I should be OK. Otherwise I am looking at having to replace ALL my gla$$ which makes me feel faint.
So that is why I need pics of the manufacturing markings on peoples USA/Canada LS400 autoglass...

This is not going to help much but pre01 no Lexus has anything but Toyota etched on it. Lexus is only a recent change on the glass from Toyota branding.
J-spec imports imports the celsiors they might be able to give you an idea on clearing it. Also there is another guy in BC who has his Celsior also.

Thanks for that info skperformance.
If noone has any photo's of the markings can someone please just have a look at your 90-92 glass and let me know if it has an AS1 stamp on the windshield and an AS2 or AS3 stamp on the other glass. I believe my glass is the bronze colour to narrow it down, but results from any colour style would be appreciated.

Forgot to mention. I didn't take a pic of the front windshield as it has PPG markings on it so it is my guess it has been replaced. If you are interested post and I'll get you a shot.

Replaced???

I just bought the car from a used car dealer a couple of months ago. It was an insurance recovery and under Ontario law the ownership is "branded" and the seller has to disclose the extent of the repairs/damage to any future buyers. I was told that the car was stolen by kids and taken for a joy ride through a field yeilding some minor suspension and exhaust damage. There was no mention of any other damage. In fact the dealer was proud to point out to me that it was still the original paint. If there is something that would indicate the glass was replaced on this car I would appreciate any comments from anyone out there as I would pursue this with the dealer further.
Thanks

It NEVER came with the Lexus script on the glass from the factory.
They had to get in the car somehow ,so the window is the first option.
Is all the windows scripted with the Lexus Toyota on it?
