Brakes upgrade on 1st gen LS400
2nd gen front brakes on 1st gen? lots of threads on it, but no definent answer.
did some searches already...couldn't find a member who physically did it themselves!
anybody did this brake upgrade? what was needed? where did you get the parts? etc.. <---- all the information needed to complete the job..
so far I know...
front rotors
brake calipers
dust shield needs to be cut to fit.
anything else?
let me know people.
thanks

personally id just buy them used and rebuild them or have them rebuilt, i dont really trust autozone on anything above brake cleaner or disc pad spreaders.
hit up Aliga, hes always got some salvage cars. also check the GS and SC classifieds.
you should be able to find the main components (rotors+calipers) for about 350-400 used.

i dont really see the major advantage in the TT brakes without any power mods. seems to me there isnt any justification for paying ~double the price of UCF20/21 brakes for .2" rotor difference and an EXTRA 16lbs. of weight. (yes, the TT brakes are actually HEAVIER than the LS400 brakes.)
even Aliga runs the UCF20 setup on his SC. (and he has easy and cheap access to TT brakes.)

www.lextreme.com will show you how the TT brakes are done. Need to make sure you clear the caliper though.
