Default Idle Question

Hey guys,

Quick idle question.

Usually when i start my car it goes up to 1000+ then down to 500, but this morning when I was leaving without foot on the gas it went up to about 1700 and the car was moving pretty quick (13 or so mph) without my foot on the gas. Then it went back down awhile later....

should I be concerned?

Thanks guys

This is a long shot, but did you happen to press on the gas before starting the car?

I know in some Toyota’s (not sure about Lexus) when you want it to warm up faster, you step on the gas for a few seconds before starting the car, and it will idle close to 2000 for a while, until its at operating temperature.

Just as an FYI.
