Transmission Flush
I am getting ready to do a transmission flush on my 1991 LS400 and a filter change also, i was woundering which i should do first, change the filter then flush or the other way around, thanx

Are you doing a drain and fill??? Don't think you have to change the filter/screen....most that have doen that says it probably doesn't need to be touched. I would search on this subject cause there is a lot of info to be found.

It's just a screen, traps stuff to maybe 100micron... not worth your time to change it. Drain the pan and refill that A341, it's about two quarts.
Asked a long time friend who builds transmissions, it's okay to use regular Dex III in these... I do currently with no problems. No more of that $5/qt crap.

I drained and filled mine with that $5/qts crap. Actually, $4.71 + tax per qts crap from the dealer. Total cost of $60.48 for a case. It took me 10 quarts to see a difference between the brown and pink crap. I'm not sure if it makes a difference between the old crap and the new crap. My wife drives the car that I put the crap in. I hope the car lasts another two years with this crap in it.
