Default is this possible in a 98 ls 400?

Ok, i was messing around with macromediafireworks, and came up with this design for a setup for a pioneer head unit. What i would be doing is removing the stock stereo head unit, then repositioning the air conditioning control unit lower, and then replacing the air conditioning control unit with the pioneer ion dash navigation. is it possible? (the picture is a little bit distorded, but you get the basic idea)

it is possible but it requires a LOT of custom fab work since you first have to disassemble everything, then CAREFULLY trim the Climate Controle, then make custom brackets to hold it in place, and then you have to go and make the whole radio surround FROM SCRATCH since nobody makes a 2-DIN dash setup for the UCF21, and u have to do it while not messing up any of the wiring behind it and its just a royal PITA.

not something i would attempt my self.

If you've got enough $$ anything is possible.

I'd like to know more as well.

There used to be a sticky for a post about a new Pioneer navigation unit... but I can't find it anymore....anyone know what happened to that thread?

It does not cost much for the mod flamekat wants some bracket altering and some home -made brackets , ac faceplate triming , larger faceplate for head unit , also wires from AC will reach to relocate it lower.

might be, it matches the wood on the wheel, i htink its just the flash that makes the wood look almost blonde.

yeah, its a 98, and the shifter wood, is kinda faded, you can see the same happened to some parts around the black trim around the shifter, but one of the main questions i have is will depth be a problem for the head unit that i want to install?
