Hello,

I did some looking but was only able to find people working with newer models than mine when looking for a 12V switched source.

I have a '98 and am looking for a switched power source in the dome light / overhead area for my Valentine 1. Right now I use the Homelink power but that isn't switched.

I understand the moon roof is a switched source, but I can't pickup voltage with my meter on those wires, probably because they are so small and my pin tester is too large to get in the plug hole.

Could anyone fill me in on which of the two red wires would be usable for the V1? Or any other ideas in the overhead?

When I installed my mood lights, I used power sources from the rear view mirror, and sunroof.

I would just go ahead and try it out, the worse you can do is burn a fuse.

Hello,

Good point, a burnt fuse isn't the end of the world. I'll dig around and post if I find something that works.

The only thing that had me concerned was that the wires for the moon roof were a much smaller wire than what the Homelink was powered with. I'm not sure if my snap connector will even make contact with the smaller gauge wire.

I'll see though.
