carfax is not always correct. I have carfax too. My secretary crashed her car and reported to her insurance and got it repair and so on. The carfax record shown as above results " No problem".

My take is this, if you are interested in any car.
1. do a visual inspection of the body. look for major dens or body damage
2. do a close inspection of the paint. Repaint will have some flaws, ie bubbles or discolorations.
3. open the hood, rear truck and inspect color difference between the hood, engine bay and so on.
4. sit in the car and look around, inch by inch or compartment by compartment. Inspect the leathers seats, turn on and off of certain switches.
5. turn the radio off so u can listen and feel the engine. Look for smokes when starting. Very common problem for lexus.
6. rev the engine and release and feel and listen to the car.
7. Driving test should last at least 30-45 minutes. If the water pump does not work, the engine will overheat. Short drive, the problem will not occur.
8. Test the brakes and steering. Very common problem among Lexus is the steering pump. Very expensive to replace.
9. Listen for sound when turning the wheels while at a complete stop.
10. Drive to rough roads and feel the car and how it respond to the road conditions
11. The most important thing is talk to the owner and ask for the history of the car. I always ask the question when i buy a used car " if you have $2000 dollar, what would you change or repair for this car?"
