Unhappy CRAP.. went over a curb.. help!

doh.. today I entered a stores lot and there was a big concrete curb.. not really a curb but just like a concrete strip about 2 feet wide and really long.. I didnt notice it, I guess my mind was distracted since I had entered the wrong stores lot, anyways, I drove right over it with my right side, it went up, hear a big clunk, scraping, ****, so I get over it and stop and check everything out, nothing really damaged, thank god for quality, just some minor scrapes on the underside cover.
but, I start driving and notice the car is unbalanced and goes to the right. Meaning that if I line and center the steering wheel, and let it go, it drifts to the right.. goes into the next lane. Normally it stays balanced and goes straight.

So.. can I get it balanced and aligned at somewhere like Discount Tire? Will this fix it?
btw I have a 92 ls400

thanks..

hello my name is Hokkayh (Hawkeye) I work at Pohanka Lexus in Chantilly Va. I would recommend you taking it to a Lexus dealer the one closest to your area being is the guys that work at just tires NTB and sears are guys who work on all kinds of Veh. rather then just one such as your Lexus Granted it is a little more money to take it to the dealer but in the long run it is well worth the time and effort at least you know your car is being done right by Factory trained techs if yohave any questions please do not hesitate to ask me I will do my best to help you.

No offense, but there is actually no reason at all to take your vehicle to the Lexus dealership and pay Lexus service prices.

To put it bluntly, its a total and complete ripoff what you guys charge.

I recently had my Lexus in the shop for a 4 wheel alignment, front brakes, and a schedules service. They "forgot" to align the rear of the car, but they sure didnt forget to charge me for it. I recently had tires put on at a local place around here by the name of Bethesda Import Specialists that also did an alignment and did a fantastic job. The alignment is perfect. I took the spec sheet back over to Lexus to show them that the alignment wasnt preformed (it was out 5/32nds) and they just said that I must have hit some pothole. I complained until I got my refund.

For big things, sure it'll go to Lexus, and I like the frills like pickup and dropoff, free loaners etc. But for things like an alignment, having Lexus do it is just a huge waste of money.

An alignment is an alignment. Find a good import shop and let them do it, it'll be cheaper, you wont have to wait weeks for an appt., and it'll be done right. Get referrals.

Thumbs up alignments

hello Stephen my name is Hokkayh, and I am one of the most dedicated techs you will probably come across I do appreciate the fact that you may seem to think that it's cheaper to bring it to in import shop to have your car fixed (right the first time for cheaper)You obviously havent brought your Veh to Pohanka lexus in Chantilly to have us fix it right and I do appologize that it was'nt done to your satisfaction but I do gaureentee you one thing when these guys at the import shop dont know how to fix it tey will probably bring it to us. If you like come by the shop and introduce yourself to me,My name is Hawkeye and I will show you how a real dealership operates, the reason I am mentioning this to you is that I feel kind of offended that you think we the Lexus Dealerships are rip off artist just because you had problems with that one thats like judging a book by it's cover, the other thing is I would'nt have given this guy advise if I didnt care. I for one stand 110% behind my work or I would'nt be working on the best Veh on the market for 15 to 20 hours a day for the last 7 and a half years for 6 and 7 days a week.give me a chance to show you real dedication.

Sincerly Yours

I've actually been thinking of giving you guys a try.

For major services and such I will always bring it to Lexus, but for little things like brakes, alignments, wheel balancing, the dealership regardless of the car make is overpriced.

I usually run through Lexus of Alexandria, and am usually very impressed. I've tried Lexus of Rockville also, but they also failed to fix the car properly. I had been having a chronic vibration problem and no one could lick it, either Lexus dealer, until the Import Specialist shop put the new tires on and sured up the alignment.

Shimmy is gone now.

I never said that you personally didnt care. If you didnt care then you wouldnt be on this website in the first place. I was just stating that for something routine like an alignment, better deals can be found. I should have stated my response to better portray that. I have always been totally bowled over by Lexus customer service, just the last few stops have soured me on the mechanical skills of their employees.

I will definately look you up next time my vehicle goes in for service, Chantilly's not bad for a good tech.

Take care and keep up the good work!
