Default Thinking about going Monotone??

I'm considering painting the lower half of my 2000 Pearl White Lexus to match the entire car.

I'm going for the Pearl White Monotone look (like the new LS430's)

Anyone who had it done? How much did it cost?
I know the Pearl white is a 2 or 3 stage paint.. (I think)

Thanks!

I don't necessarily agree with everyone. Two tonedoesn't have to look dated. I think my first gen in silver looks great with two tone.. the bottom color is just slightly different to provide some contrast. And I forget who had the black JP LS400 second gen, but I think they painted that one monotone as well to keep that classy look.

I'm not a fan of two-tone myself...I think monotone looks much cleaner...just my 2cents

I got it done at Pro1 in Helmetta, NJ. The guy is really good. The price I paid won't help you because it was less because of any accident i was in(nothing to serious), but still was cheaper. If you are interested, and not too far from central, NJ...let me know. I'lll give you some more information. But the guy form Pro1 is the best around my area and you can just tell that he likes to do autobody and stuff. He actually recomended it to me!

I say do it, monotone shaves years off the look of the car. My car looks updated with the monotone color change I did.

Before:

After: with wald exc body kit, diff wheels and new color

Stefwill, thanks for posting the before and after pictures of your black LS. It really does make the car look 5 years newer. I was fortunate that the previous owner painted the bottom half black on mine before I bought it. I could tell that the top half wasn't painted since there was a little oxidization so I knew they did it just for asthetics and it looks great.

I am also considering going monotone. My LS is jade green and gray. I am thinking about going to a solid jade green. The paint is faded, but the car runs so well that I don't want to get rid of it.

And that Wald Exec body kit had absolutely no part in making it look less dated. I love your car.
