it sounds like a leak.you will notice it like comeing from the middle of the car.

haha my check engine light came out the other day, i brought it to work and had ran it on the computer. it came up with code 79? not really sure. my boss just shook the im egr valve and hoes for about 2 minutes, took out a fuse from under a hood, waited 2 minutes, then put it back and restarted my car and teh check engine light never came back on.

If the fuse he took out was the ECM fuse then that light would go out--until the problem that caused the light in the first place happens again. The true test to see if it's fixed is whether or not that code pops up again in the next week or two.

WOW.. i hate that valve. we have a 94 C280 which needs a new egr valve every year. Really annoying.
