Default A few questions for a potential buyer...

Sorry this was posted in the wrong forum. Admin please delete if possible. Tks.

I am in the process of purchasing a LS 400, either a 96 or a 97 with around 100K.

What are the differences between the 96 and the 97?
I know of the following differences:

Front grill, trunk scoop, a slight increase in HP, cluster info. (temp, trip meter,...)

Any other differences perferences between the two years?
How much for a timing belt change?
Is there anything I should look in particular when looking at the cars?

Besides what Nada and KBB states, what is a good price for the models in Very Good/Exc. cond?

TIA

There are actually not many differences between 96 and 97. It’s the 98 that got the HP bump, different lights, bigger grille, 5speed auto.

However, the 97 did have side air bags over the 96, and a key transponder.

Grand already covered it and I re-typed it. Coach editions also got perforated seats with little emblem and the five spoke wheels that carried over to the '98 LS400.
