Default New gauge light problem, yay!

ok, did a few searches for this but nothing came up.

so, my gauges has the same problem as most others, when its cold, they dont turn on.
but after they come on, there are no problems with them.

when i turn on the parking lights or the driving lights during the day, there are no problems.
but when its at night or going through a tunnel, the lights turn off. so it has somthing to do
with the little dimmer sensor next to the winshield on the drivers side. at night with my
driving lights are on, the gauges dont work. but if i shine a light onto the sensor, the gauges
and climate control lights up again.

anyone ever have this problem?
is there a way to disconnect the dimmer sensor? (i havent really looked, just want input)

this is stupid, cuz my old AE86 corolla's gauge lights didnt work at night either.
so, i got used to not having lights pretty quick, but its gay that i have to limit my speed so that
i dont go over the speed limit cuz i have no idea how fast im going!

Maybe its because you lowered your dimmer settings while cleaning on accident or something? Happens all the time. Try readjusting the dimmer switch.

i didnt know that you have to adjust the dimmer when there is no light
to the sensor, and when there is light to the sensor. so there are 2 different
settings for it! please dont laugh, ive only had the car for 3 months. lol
ill go stick my nose in the corner of my room now for the rest of the night...

here are some pics of my old 86, sold it to buy the LS:
