Just purchased a set or 18" rims and looking to upgrade to a larger size brake. Is there anything larger that fits a 92LS. Just looking for improved performance over stock brakes. Let me avoid the mistake the everyone makes::

rim dimensions 5X114.3
18 x 7.5
40 mm positive ofset.
anyone with suggestions would greatly help me.

If u are looking for brake calipers upgrade, u won't be able to fit big calipers behind those wheels u have.

7.5 is too narrow for a BBK, plus you'd need a high disk setup.

The first mistake was not to consult here BEFORE buying wheels.

Like the others said, the probability that these wheels will work with larger brakes is almost nil. You might fit larger rotors but the calipers will be the problem. The larger rotors won't help you because they will need to me mated with appropriate calipers.

The best you can hope for now is to get more aggressive brake pads (usually more dust) and SS brake lines. You can also look into drilled and/or slotted rotors if you want to change up the look a little.

appreciate the advice, couldn't pass up the rims since I got them at a great price. was thinking that my choices were nil and that I just mnight have to settle for the current size with maybe a cross drilled and slotted rotor. And I thought that I was doing all of my homework when I bought the rims,, oh well I'll stay after school. Thanks for the advice. can close thread if you want.

Over here in Aus the Nov 94 model went to 4 piston alloy calipers and 315 mm disc's on the front and all behind the standard 16" wheel , you can get remanufactured standard calipers from several auto parts shops in the states for around $70.00 each , I can't say for sure but they would have to fit behind your 18" x 7.5 rims ??
That is the way that I will be going , no need for mega buck Supra TT calipers !!

I forgot to mention that the later model alloy 4 piston calipers and disc's are a bolt on fit , how easy is that !!

Well, you can custom almost anything. It is just a matter of cost and testing/risk taking. As for the other kits, do they have them for the LS?

i know that rotora has a full setup for the LS as does RMM, those will each set u back at least 1500-2500 tho.

They are hoping there will be enough LS4 modders to make it worth the production.
Even with the Supra brake upgrade, it wouldn't likely clear the wheels.

im lookin into doing the 2nd gen brake upgrade also. but i want to know if itll fit my wheels
the wheels i got are 18x8.5 with +35 offset. here is a pic:

it only has around 1" if lip... will the brakes fit?
