Default 95 Transmission OE Gasket?

I am going to change my transmissions fluid, filter, and clean out the pan. The instructions and write ups look easy. I found a part number for everything else, drain pan gasket, filter, etc. But I cant find a part number for a gasket that actually goes around the transmission pan. Does anyone have a Lexus part number for this?

Hello,

there is no original gasket available. You need to get a silicone seal gasket for oilpans.

Oh ok. I was wondering why I couldnt find one. Why would they stop making a gasket? I asked at AutoZone and they have one in stock, its not a genuine Lexus part obviously. Its made by Felpro part # TOS18685. I am not real comfortable putting a bead of sealer around, would rather have a real gasket in place. Anyone try one of these yet?

That is listed as a "gasket" kit for almost $200. What other gaskets are included? I am not rebuilding the whole transmission, just changing the fluid and filter.

I have used the Felpro gasket many times before on my 1990 & 1991 LS's and they work great! The only other gasket you might think of getting is the O-ring for the dipstick tube but only if your old one is worn. Also, make sure that you use the T-4 type transmission fluid, which you can usually get at a Toyota dealer for a cheaper price than at the Lexus dealer.

PS. The pan gasket should only cost about $10-15.

I ordered the FelPro one. It was $5, shipping was as much as the part. I ordered it online because none of my local parts stores had it, AutoZone wanted $19.99 for it. I was farther ahead buying it online and paying for the shipping.

Hello,

it is a lot easier to get a silicon seal dry than a regular gasket. I used the seal gasket many times and never had any problems with leaking oil.
