Default Amazing Service Experience on my 95' LS400!

I just wanted to share how excited I am over the first thing to go wrong with my 95' Lexus LS400.

My driver's door stopped working because the actuator went bad, so I stopped using the remote and started just using the key. No big deal really and definetely not worth paying $500 to fix.

I emailed Lexus and said that I heard it was a pretty common problem in a couple different Lexus models, and what really dissapointed me is in a normal car it would be a $30 part to replace but since its a dealer only part I would have to go through Lexus.

The car is 10 years old, with 120k on the speedo, i'm the 3rd owner, and the car is not certfiied pre-owned and is way out of warrenty. So to my surpise, after a few emails back and forth for more infomation, they offered to split the cost with me!!! And ontop of the 15% the service manager at Tustin Lexus already extended. I can't wait to bring my car into service! I hope I get a loner!

"The price of the repair for the door actuator, after the 15 percent discount already offered is $487. In the interest of customer satisfaction Lexus will share the cost of repairing your vehicle equally. If you accept this offer your cost will be $243.50 plus any applicable taxes and Lexus will pay the remaining amount. "

Hey you can't beat that! They aren't obligated to do squat, so I'd consider yourself pretty lucky!

As for a loaner - I wouldn't push it.

I had the same problem on my 97 twice.
First time I was able to take an actuator of my bud's crashed LS. Now, my pass.side doesn't open and my little lady has to stand and wait until I either open the door with a key for her or get in and pop the pin from the inside - depending on my estimated chances of getting luck that night -

If you can fing a used part, try to replace it yourself - it's pretty easy.

Default Update

I dropped off the car on Monday and they gave me an 05' RX330 as a loner!!!

I've been driving it everywhere for the last four days and I love it. I seriously think the RX330 loners are a marketing ploy to get you in it and fall in love with it. If I was married I'd seriously consider buying the RX for my wife.
