My Voltage is 13.5 When I start it up & 12.5 when Warmed Up.. What could cause the Big volt mdrop? I also installed my Highout Put Alternator (170amps) and it still has low votlage (12.0 idle). So I installed my stock alternator to see if it was the High Out Alternator but it isn't. What could e the problem?

Ps.. I thought the car was suppose to charge at 14.4? Anybody had this problem?

dont worrie about it. its normal. cold starts engine tends to use more energy. and u used the battery. so it needs to charge up. the reason y u get 12.5v is that ur battery is basicly charged up and ecu is telling the alternator that it doesnt need much output.

and how old is ur battery. if u replaced ur battery ull see similar results

My Battery is new. Is there anyway that I can raise the Voltage? Because when I play my stereo (About 1500watts) it dims my lights bad and it goes down to about 10.5-11volts.

Ps.. I brought an HO Alt to fix the problem but it doesn't seem to help?? So im wondering if there is something else that could be done?

put a cap in youre sound system this will help keep system bumping and keep lights from dimming

Well if you put a capacitor on youre stereo amplifier it will keep a constant 12v to you audio system without pulling constant voltage from youre battery. The capacitor will charge up and feed audio system independently. Capacitor is a energy storage device designed to supplement a audio amplifier power supply during times of high current demands.Automotive batteries are not designed to deliver the instantaneous current required in high power car audio applications.
