Default Help: Climate control "Auto" feature 98-00 LS w/ or w/o nav

Hey all,

Just throwing this out for opinion.

How exactly should the auto feature on a 00/nav act when you first get in the car??

1. Start car.
2. Push auto climate
3. What should I expect to happen?

It seems the system defaults to floor vent and no fan speed. I can push the fan speeds on the nav screen and it works fine but that sort of defeats the purpose of auto.

I am going to run out and try our 98 w/o nav to see what happens.

Depends on the outside temp. If it is cold out, auto setting starts blowing slow on the floor (waiting for heat buildup) then will gradually start increasing fan speed and then come up to the dash vents.
Hope this helps,

Exactly - why blow cold air when you have the temp set to 70? When I go to warm up my car in the morning (Chicago winter), I will hit the front defrost button (not auto) and it will immediately blast the fan. I'm not in the car while it's doing this so it doesn't matter. As the engine warms up so will the air and it ends up clearing the windshield pretty well. By the time I'm ready to leave I can see through the windows and the air is blowing warm.

Sounds like your climate control is working ok on both cars.
