98-00 LS400: Can the nav be removed?

Can the stock navigation be replaced and non-nav equipped LS400's climate control be installed in its place? I'm thinking about putting a better, aftermarket nav system, but I wanna know of the fate of the climate controls.

Actually, this is a good question. If the nav in our 00 ever went bad and the car was past warranty. I would want to know this. Are there extra plugs back there for the nav option but the climate are all the same?? I guess I could go look at the service manual but that would take some effort.

It would make sense that the climate plugs were the same in all the nav/non nav cars and the nav cars just had an added harness to run the hard drive in the trunk.
