Default Fair repair prices?

Long time lurker.........

Hello everyone,

I found out today that some needed repair on my parents 95 LS400 (50K miles).

1. Power steering pump is leaking so a rebuilt is $200 + labor $80.

2. Brace between front wheel and frame is cracked. Parts $220 both sides + labor $100.

Is this fair?

The PS pump is ball park.

Do you know what specific brace? If it's the cross member it will be $$$.
If this is the strut bar where te bushing is cracked and needs replacement, this is a fair price but on the high side. You'll also need an alignment.

RA40,

That was quick from you.

The symptom is if the brake is applied hard, you can see front wheel moved to the front then back. I think it's the brace between frame and front supension.

The guy told me to get an alignment afterwards. I will try to get a discount from him.

How did you get price quotes w no part #'s or descriptions? This same part is broken on the left & right side??? Very confused.

I would want to see where this pump is leaking or if it is the hose or idle air control valve. This pump should go well past 50,000 miles even though it is an acknowledged weak spot for the LS cars.
